Family gathered all around,
Soft music playing in the background.
They have come from far and near
To take a part in this festive cheer
Moods are great, and spirits soar.
With happiness and fun galore.
Aromas dancing around the table
Can they eat it, they’re more than able
The turkey comes, a golden brown
The children jumping up and down
Baked and stuffed to perfection
Grandma smiles with pure affection
The Corn and beans, buttered lightly
Our eyes are sparkling very brightly
Apple cider, cold and bitter
Apple juice and apple fritter
Rolls are fresh from the oven
All are made with grandmas loven’
Puffy and soft, they melt in your mouth
Cooked with a recipe from the south
Potatoes and yams, sweet and tasty
Chew slowly, don’t be hasty
Gravy simmered, boiled and stewed
Look at all this glorious food
Let’s not forget the many pies
So very good they could win a prize
Apple, cherry and pumpkin too
Eat and eat until they’re through
Oh how I Love this new thanksgiving
It all makes life worth living
My family close around me
I love them all (to some degree)
